Loft Conversion Billericay
Hip to Gable Loft Conversion Billericay Case Study
Our client in Billericay had a hipped roof that had to be converted into a gable ended roof as part of the works. Fox Conversions erected a temporary roof scaffolding while the project was underway, temporary roofs are not always needed but some clients prefer these for peace of mind.
One of the great advantages of a tin roof scaffold is that it allows work to progress faster as well as protecting the home from any rain or snow. The structural elements where completed within three weeks, the side gable would the be pebble dashed and painted to blend in with the rest of the house.
With hip to gable loft conversions you have to remove half of the current roof in order to extend the roof to great the additional space and form the gable end. So during this time the client opted to renew the tiles, which is always recommended while you have the expense scaffolding and roofing works being carried out. Along with the front roof we have two Velux windows within a small area, so in this instance we have a Velux close coupled kit allowing a very small gap between the windows.
Fox Conversions fitted a powder coated iron Juliet balcony along with some French doors that gave an impressive view over Billericay, a designer radiator and a well furnished en-suite.
The client did not have their own plans or structural design, Fox Conversions is a loft conversion company that can supply these and liaised with building control from start to completion to ensure that the project runs smoothly.
